Christ is risen! A happy Easter weekend to you all and I hope you have been able to enjoy the holiday in some way at home. We are very lucky to have stunning weather and we have spent most of the weekend out in our back garden soaking up some vitamin D. On Saturday we had a BBQ together which was lovely. This morning we tuned into church from our living room, took communion together, and have enjoyed a relaxed lunch. I think we'll try and go out for a walk later this afternoon when it isn't quite so hot! The others were very keen for an Easter egg hunt which has never been part of my Easter tradition so I offered to hide the eggs this morning. I may have been a little too clever with the hiding - we are still missing at least 5 and I can't remember where the other ones are....all good fun though! It's amazing how quickly this whole situation has become normal, I am thoroughly enjoying not having to set an alarm in the mornings! It is sad not to be out exploring England in the glorious weather, especially when we are on holiday at the moment. But I have been learning to crochet with help from some ladies at church via Zoom and it is nice to see so much of my flatmates. Emmaus Rd had a church quiz last Saturday and we were very pleased with our third place. This is going to be a fortnightly event so we will see how we get on next week. It has also been good to see some plays from the National Theater. I've been doing quite a bit of baking - I introduced the flat to afghan biscuits which we all love. I hadn't really thought about the name before though...perhaps not very PC!
Ed and I had been talking, but I've found that too hard on my heart so we are just messaging once a week now. It's good to hear that things are going well for him and the family but I still find myself missing him loads. Sigh, it has been hard to stay mentally positive about the whole thing but I think I'm slowly getting there.
So another week of holiday and then back to online learning after that. The plan is to do another week or so of lessons as we have been doing, and then set a project for classes to do. This will have a variety of tasks and some choice so students can do what is appropriate for their level and the resources they have available at home. This will then be marked so I will once again have plenty to do which I am actually looking forward to!
